Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 17, 2026
WebSketch wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use it. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs.
Where we stand
WebSketch partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 level AA. "Partially conforms" means that most of the site meets the standard, and some parts do not yet. The known gaps are listed below. We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit, and we have not yet tested with people who use assistive technology. We will say so here when that changes, and we will not claim otherwise before it does.
What we have done
- Automated testing. We scanned the home, sign-in, registration, forgot-password, featured, community, about, legal, support, code editor and canvas pages with axe-core at desktop width and at a 320 pixel wide screen, and fixed what it found. Our code checks also run accessibility lint rules (Biome
a11y).
- Structure. Every page has a unique title, a
lang attribute, landmark regions, a single main heading, and a "Skip to content" link as the first focusable element.
- Keyboard. Interactive controls are standard buttons, links and form fields or accessible component primitives, and we have fixed the keyboard problems we found. A complete manual keyboard walkthrough of every feature is still pending. In the code editor, Tab indents; press Escape and then Tab to move focus out of the editor. The editor announces this.
- Forms. Fields have visible labels or accessible names, errors are shown as text rather than by color alone, and sign-up and onboarding fields use standard
autocomplete values.
- Zoom and reflow. The pages above reflow down to 320 CSS pixels wide without horizontal scrolling, and we do not block pinch-zoom or text resizing.
- Contrast. Text and interface colors in the default theme are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for controls).
- Motion. We do not autoplay audio or video, and animation respects the system "reduce motion" setting where we use it.
Known limitations
- Code editor themes. The default editor theme meets AA contrast. Some of the other editor color themes were designed by third parties and may not.
- Color swatches in the editor. The small color preview next to a color value in your code is smaller than the 24 by 24 pixel target size WCAG 2.2 asks for.
- Canvas editor. The canvas (design) editor is largely a pointer-driven drawing surface. Some actions are available from the keyboard and the layer tree, but not all, and screen reader support on the artboard itself is limited.
- Sketches made by other people. A sketch is a web page written by its author, and AI-generated sketches are written by a model. We do not control the accessibility of what people publish. If you find an inaccessible sketch, you can report it using the report option on the sketch.
- Third-party services. Sign-in, payment (Stripe) and bot-check (Cloudflare Turnstile) screens are provided by those companies and follow their own accessibility practices.
Technical details
WebSketch relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript. It is built and tested to work in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Assistive technology that can use those browsers should work with the site, but we have not yet verified specific screen reader and browser combinations.
Feedback and requests
If something is hard to use, or you need information in another form, tell us:
Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use if you can. We aim to reply within 5 business days and to fix or work around reported barriers as quickly as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, tell us and we will escalate it.
Reviews
We re-run the automated checks when we change the interface and review this statement at least once a year. This statement was prepared on October 17, 2026, from our own testing.
WebSketch needs JavaScript. AI agents and other non-JavaScript clients:
